Oakfield Cottage sleeps four to five guests and is located above Tobermory Harbour, tucked to the rear of Oakfield House. The cottage has its own separate driveway that leads to the parking area behind the main house.
On arriving at the cottage, you’ll discover two pretty garden areas before you reach the front door. The first is a raised lawn with seating and great sea views beyond the house - a real suntrap that is equally good for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. To the other side is a planted garden - a lovely space for children to play.
Entering Oakfield Cottage there is a spacious hallway that leads guests to all ground floor rooms, as well as a staircase leading to the upper level. The living room is a beautiful room, stylishly furnished with comfortable designer leather sofas. A huge window brings in lots of natural light and has a view to the planted side garden. There’s an electric fire here too for added warmth and ambiance, as well as a superb selection of books and games.
The kitchen is well appointed and very well equipped for your self-catering holiday requirements, with charming country-style cabinets. With a dining table also located in this room, this is a sociable space for all the family to come together to cook and enjoy a meal.
Guests will also find the beautiful high-spec modern bathroom on the ground floor, which features a contemporary bath with shower over, w.c. and basin.
Moving upstairs, a lovely light landing area leads to both bedrooms. The master is a large room with standard double with high quality bedding and abundant light thanks to the large windows. There’s lots of storage space and a full-length mirror, with charming painted furniture in a calming palette.
The second bedroom can be set as a double bedroom or twin, thanks to a folding bed that can be configured as one standard single and a double bed. This is another lovely room with a period fireplace, artwork and comfortable furnishings.
From Oakfield Cottage you can enjoy all the facilities of Tobermory, from the excellent independent shops, cafes and restaurants, to boat trips and stunning coastal walks. Further afield, you will find Calgary Beach 30 minutes to the west by car, or perhaps take a trip to explore the Loch na Keal scenic area, visit Iona or enjoy a guided wildlife tour.
Thanks to the attention to detail and high standard throughout, it is likely you will want to return to this pretty cottage. You will see the cottage shares its location with Oakfield House, a grand property sleeping ten.
