Things to Do
This is a great area if you want to see the wildlife the island has to offer, with white tailed sea eagles, red deer, otters, seals, porpoises and golden eagles all frequenting the surrounding coast and countryside.
Within walking distance, standing proudly on a clifftop guarding the Sound of Mull, Duart Castle enjoys one of the most spectacular and unique positions on the west coast of Scotland. For over 400 years this has been the base of the Clan Maclean. Visit the castle and find out more about its history and enjoy coffee and cake in the tearoom too.
Only 10 minutes’ drive from Kilpatrick, Craignure offers several places to eat and a Spar shop, which is handy for stocking up on self-catering supplies. Just outside of Craignure you will find the swimming pool, gym and spa at the Isle of Mull Hotel, which is open for you to enjoy as well as hotel guests. Relax in the outdoor hot tub, book yourself in for a massage, or go for a swim in the pool. A couple of minutes up the road from the hotel, you'll also find the Craignure Golf Club. So, whether you’ll be spending your days seeking out Mull’s wildlife or touring the island, there’s plenty to do when you stay in Kilpatrick.
