Things to Do
There is much to do in the island capital with a array of boutique gift shops, small cafes and galleries lining the harbour front. The town itself is a nice size for walking around and there are coastal paths to explore at either end of the harbour and Aros park close by, offers more walking opportunities.
There is a golf course on the outskirts of the town too and a marine harbour centre. There is a museum on the main street too, an arts centre just up the hill, and a theatre on the outskirts of town. A little further afield Sgriob-ruadh is a dairy farm with a cafe, which is well worth a visit, and Glengorm estate offers a gallery and cafe too.
There is always something to watch in the harbour in Tobermory, with boats coming to and fro, particularly during the height of summer when there are more yachts around. You might even spot an otter! A boat trip is highly recommended during your stay and there are numerous boat tour operators who will take you out on the water for excursions to outlying islands or to watch for wildlife and marine life.
