Things to Do
Those staying in the Art House get the benefit of having easy access to all of the amenities in Tobermory. Some award-winning restaurants are situated in the town with excellent seafood and local produce being celebrated in lots of the eateries here. Don't forget to stop in one of the local public houses to sample some of the whisky produced in the local distillery before making the short (but steep!) walk home up the hillside.
Tobermory has an arts centre (An Tobar), which is just a short walk from the door. There's an art gallery, theatre space with regular traditional musical events, an excellent cafe with local artwork on sale here - a must for anyone staying at the Art House! In addition, guests can make use of the marine centre, museum and golf course, or take a walk along one of the tree lined paths that hug the coastline at either end of the harbour.
There are wildlife tours and boat trips departing from Tobermory on a daily basis during the summer months - great for those wanting to see some of the wildlife on offer here or to explore some of the uninhabited isles such as Staffa or one of the Treshnish Isles, where marine life is abundant and puffins come to roost (seasonal).
