The mature trees that border the garden and the hillside behind the house, make this a really stunning countryside setting, where walkers and outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element. The house is a short walk from Traigh na Cille; a secluded beach on the west coast with a gorgeous, sweeping bay of grey sand. The beautiful church and cemetery next door provide some historical interest too.

Things to Do
Walkers can set out from the door to explore the coastline and hillsides of the west coast. The single track road that follows the coastline here is great for cyclists too - head south and explore Loch Tuath and the Treshnish Isles National Scenic Area, or head north towards Calgary for a great circular route, coming back over the hill road from Dervaig. The Ulva Ferry landing is just a short drive from the house, where you can catch a boat to the Isle of Ulva; a community owned island with beautiful trails to explore on foot. Boats also depart from here on tours to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles.
Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts will be well catered for too, with the area offering a wide range of habitats for all the flora and fauna the island is well known for. Watch for otters while walking the coast; keep the binoculars at hand for red deer on the hillside; and of course, don't forget to keep checking the skies for a passing golden eagle or the white-tailed variety.
For culinary delights, there are a smattering of great local restaurants, such as Croft 3 (to the south) and Am Birlinn (just past Calgary). There is also the oldest inn on the island in Dervaig (The Bellachroy), where meals are served along with a selection of local ales and whiskies. Dervaig also has a great village shop for provisions (20 minutes away), while the main town of Tobermory is a forty minute drive from the house.
