Things to Do

Willowbank is a relaxing base from which to explore the area. From Pennyghael (a small locality 20 minutes east of Ardtun), there is a road leading to Carsaig (further 15 minutes) where footpaths lead in either direction along the coast. The dramatic cliffs, rock formations, waterfalls and interesting geology, makes this a well worth trip. You might even spot a few of the wild goats this area is well known for, or see a seal or even a passing porpoise on your walk as it hugs the coastline.

To the west of Ardtun, there are endless coastal opportunities for kayaking, walks, beachcombing or photography. A pair of binoculars, a picnic and a sturdy pair of boots are recommended for exploring this wonderful area of Mull, with its fossil beds, old oak woodlands, rocky granite outcrops and fine white sandy bays. Guests staying in this area also have the added bonus of having each access to the isles of Iona, Staffa and the Treshnish Isles from Fionnphort, which is a 20 minute drive from Ardtun.
