We had a wonderful time on Mull. The cottage ist spacious and well furnished. The wonderful little libery about the isle, its people and nature is very helpful. Binoculars as well. We liked the little bench at the loch. Thank a lot.

I can only support all the previous comments! This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in, so well, furnished, comfortable with good touches, pictures, pottery etc within the decor.
Good binoculars were a treat!
Thank you.

Amazing house in stunning location. So well equipped, every bit of kitchen equipment youd ever need! Lovely views from upstairs windows, shame the ones downstairs blocked by the mature bushes in the garden. Location very central to Ross of Mull and for going up north to ulva, only 35 minutes to the ferry at Craignure. Local shop by the campsite is new and extremely well stocked. Would recommend the Old Church to anyone for a fantastic holiday.

Editor's Note: The garden shrubs have now been cut well back to open the sea view from the ground floor too, and a new gardener is now in place to ensure the hedges, garden and path to the loch are well maintained throughout the season for guests.
We enjoyed our week in this lovely peaceful cottage, which had everything we needed. It's a great location for visiting the south area of Mull. Unlike a previous review we had a prompt response and solution to a couple of issues we had and we had no evidence of any ticks (you can pick these up anywhere). Whilst the cottage is lovely, we found it a pity that the path to the bench overlooking the loch has become neglected and overgrown and the shrubs in the garden now obstruct a good view of the loch, which is different to how it is portrayed on the website. We would visit again.

This is a stunning property in a beautiful location. We had plumbing issues which were not resolved while we were there which was a bit awkward.
We made the mistake of going in the garden before reading the visitors book as the garden is rife with ticks so please beware of this. Never the less the weather was beautiful, the scenery was amazing and we explored the south of Mull and Iona which is well worth a visit.

We were very pleased with the cottage, it was everything and more than we expected. It really enhanced or amazing trip to Mull with all its wild life . Our only problem was the caretakers lack of communication our 2 calls they were never returned, so our dilemma was not solved and we stopped trying to get in touch … shame everything else was perfect thank you .

Absolutely fantastic cottage in a wonderful location. We loved sitting on the Loch bench wildlife spotting and enjoying the magnificent views. We saw otters every day and occasionally seals. Very much enjoyed trips to Iona, Ulva, Tobermory, Lochbuie, Carsaig and Loch na Keal.

Absolutely amazing cottage lots of living space , cosy oil burner which heated the whole house. Seals in the loch every day sadly no otter. Weather for October was good, a short drive to the shop lots of deers and stags all over the island a lovely walk at fionnphort watching sae eagles from the beach. Trip to Iona was amazing , well stocked spar on there , beaches are breathtaking white sands and clear blue sea. Found our otters in the other side of the loch at Dereach. Didn’t want to come home.

Having seen this property over the years we got the opportunity to stay this year and were not disappointed. The house was warm if not a little too warm for us at times - but very comfortable both down stairs in the open plan lounge / kitchen and the bedrooms upstairs. The views across the loch were superb and the 'sitootery' added an extra sitting area to enjoy the scene. Unlike previous visitors we were not lucky enough to see the local otter - perhaps next time!!!
Getting up and out for 9:00am on our last morning was a bit of pressure to end our visit, another hour would help.

We could not have asked for a better place for our home away from home. The location is so beautiful! We were able to make some meals at our place and slept so well. Highly recommend!!

A beautiful cottage, well equipped and spacious. The view was amazing and the setting very peaceful. We enjoyed the local beaches and coves and found Iona to be beautiful. Saw three basking sharks on our trip to Staffa and two sets of dolphins. A memorable holiday.

We stayed at The Old Church for 2 weeks and we really didn’t want to leave. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, the Sitootary is great fun! But the crowing glory is the view… it is just superb! We saw Otters and seals everyday and just to watch the changing clouds and lighting effects on the landscape was amazing! We would definitely recommend this property!????

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. The cottage is spacious and has everything you could want with a cosy stove , well equipped kitchen, good WiFi and comfortable beds. The garden is peaceful with lovely views across the loch and sheltered which meant we stayed the whole day in the garden one sunny day We really didn’t want to leave

We had a fabulous holiday at the old church. It is beautifully located right on the loch side with views of Ben More and we’ll positioned for heading north or south on the island. The house is comfortable and spacious, and extremely well equipped. Amazing walking, kayaking and swimming in the sea. We definitely want to return.

A beautiful house, superbly equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Situated perfectly on a beautiful Loch in a beautiful place. The rain didn't matter. The wildlife was amazing - even the otter turned up on our first evening. We had a perfect holiday to celebrate a 60th birthday with 2 of our grown up boys. Lynn was very friendly and helpful. We will be back. Thank you. ????

We loved every minute of our stay. The house is very well equipped, warm and comfortable. The location is absolutely stunning. Great location to visit Iona too - which is a must. The drive through Glen More to reach the house is amazing. We would definitely book this property again and it is highly recommended.

Idyllic location and lovely house and garden.

Been back several times because it is the perfect place for peace and tranquility. Plenty of lovely beaches and places to visit, one being Iona, it's just beautiful. The cottage is very clean, spacious, and well equipped. The garden is right onto the Loch and if your lucky you may spot the Otters returning. Looking over to Ben More from the garden is amazing, and don't miss the Eagles being fed on Loch na Keal each day.

We would definitely recommend staying at The Old Church. It has been one of the most comfortable and beautiful places we have ever rented. Fabulous views out to the Loch, great garden and wonderful sitootary. A really good location, easy to access and not far from some of the best beaches on Mull.

The Old Church you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. The cottage was beautiful, clean and plenty of room. The view from the cottage and the garden is fantastic you look across the loch to Ben Mor. We had beautiful weather as well.

Wonderful stay on Mull in a beautiful house, with everything you need and a great outlook onto the Loch and Ben More. Seen 3 sightings of the otter from the house and lots of diving gannets. Lots of seals a few miles up the road and some nice beaches. We took an early 8:30am ferry to Iona - but be aware nothing opens until 10am.. On a clear night, the stars are amazing - lots of shooting stars. Would recommend you stock- up at Oban and plan your meals ahead., there’s a slow cooker in the house, which was really handy.

We loved staying at the Old Church. it has been beautifully renovated and is very well equipped and easy to live in. We loved the gardens and the Sitootary . Saw sea otters and seals. We kayaked off the rocks below the house and cycled to Iona. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic cottage, a perfect home from home. Fabulous location, amazing wildlife, otters swimming by usually at approx 10:20pm, white tail eagles, great northern diver, gannet, herons and the hourly flyby by the Oyster catchers.
Totally agree and recommend Mull Charters sea eagle trip, cafe fish at Tobermory, Flora’s meals from the Old Post Office at Lochbuie and the Boathouse at Ulva. We will definitely book again with Isle of Mull Cottages and look forward to returning to Mull one day soon.,

Fantastic cottage. Well equipped and comfortably cosy. Everything we needed was provided - ensuite, off-road parking, gorgeous views, privacy, solitude, and porpoise in the loch outside! A must is the Mull Charter boat trip to see the Sea Eagles - amazing! Can recommend Hebridean Lodge for a wonderful meal - bit of drive down to Tobermory end but well worth it.
Wildlife sightings were fabulous as usual - both eagles, porpoise, otters! Thank you for a marvellous week.

Loved hearing the stags calling as it is rutting season will never forget that sound, heard them everyday and night fantastic. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the old Church in the autumn with our 3 children, we didn’t want to leave. It’s thoughtfully and beautifully renovated, with amazing views. It was really warm all the time and really well equipped, the garden house was perfect and easy to make warm too. Mull is a very special and friendly island. We’ll be back. The spa at Bunessen and the scattering of local food shops felt that we could get all we need here on the island.

Absolutely wonderful cottage. The quality second to none. The interior design and detail very tasteful. Oil burner kept the cottage warm right the way through our stay. The Aspect of the property right by the Loch side, wonderful. We arrived late at night in the dark but when we woke in the morning and pulled up the blind what a view that greeted us. We loved the Sitootery. Watched the deer all night.
Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Sea Otters galore!!! Thank you and we will be definately coming again.

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful location, on our favourite Scottish island. The Old Church has a cosy, yet modern 'home from home' feel and equipped to a very high standard. The garden gives access to the shore of Loch Shridean, from where we launched our kayak most days, and the windows give great views across the loch towards Ben More.
If you are into wildlife, then the daily views of otters on the loch from the house, along with common seal, gannets, divers, eagles should keep you entertained.
We've just booked it again for next year which should be enough recommendation !
By Ross Johns stayed in September 2017
The Old Church exceeded our expectations, and they were high from the outset. It was a pleasure to spend time in the main house and the sitooterie, with amazing views from every window. It's the most spectacularly beautiful setting. No otter sightings, sadly, but we did see a seal on the beach at Iona!
I would advise stocking up in Oban before arriving in Mull. We used the Spar at Bunessan to top up and that seemed to work.

The Old Church is a beautiful renovation which has created the perfect base to discover the wonders of Mull. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and more. The downstairs open-plan space is large and well thought out and the bedrooms are simple, cosy and comfortable. The star of the property though has to be the location with wonderful sea views from almost every window. Great wildlife on the door-step and easy access to all of the southern Mull activities. Even Tobermory is only 50 minutes away. Overall, a wonderful base for a great family holiday.
By The Whitmans stayed in August 2017
Had a wonderful week in this delightful property and agree with other comments about the renovation. We will definitely return as we found this property very relaxing and comfortable. It was a pleasure to return to the Old Church after being out for the day. We also appreciated the lochside location and stunning views of Ben More.

A beautifully appointed and beautifully sited property. Conversion done to a very high standard and everything in place to make your stay perfect.
The bedrooms make incredibly good wildlife watching spots! Great Northern Divers, and otters were seen on a daily basis and we watched deer at close hand less than 5 minutes walk along the road.
The rest of Mull is wonderful so do and try to drag yourself away from this beatufull place now and then.
The cottage is very warm and inviting and tranquil.

Stunning church conversion providing immaculate gorgeous 3 bedroom accommodation and enormous living area. Further benefits from a spacious detached 'Sitootary' (garden room to us English folk), with outstanding views of the lovely garden leading down to the Loch and mountains beyond. Thanks for terrific customer service from Becky at Isle of Mull Cottages and good to be visited by the housekeeper Lynn on our arrival too. A cottage that we'd be very happy to stay at again.

Perfect house and location, we have stayed in many houses on Mulland this is our new favourite.
Beautifully furnished with every home comfort and a fantastic touring location for all of Mull. We saw otters most days either at the bottom of the garden or on the stretch of loch leading up to the house. We will defiantly book again..
We booked this house for the size and comfort taking 4 teenagers away who all like their own space and it was perfect in every way!!

Most enjoyable stay in the Old Church cottage. Beautifully renovated building that made us feel at home the minute we entered through the door.
