Very comfortable, warm and cosy cottage. We were so lucky to have lovely weather with wonderful clear starry skies. So much to do locally you really don’t need to do much travelling. Beautiful location

Taigh Cian is a very comfortable and cozy cottage in a superb location. The views from the cottage are breathtaking, as are the sightings of wildlife especially Golden Eagles that we saw fly past over the loch on several occasions. There are walks from the door along to a number of lovely beaches. The cottage is well furnished and the kitchen has most utensils that are needed. For a quiet and peaceful holiday it is ideal

We had an amazing stay in this very comfortable cottage. There are amazing beeches on your doorstep and an abundance of wildlife all around. This is are 3rd visit to mull and for us Bunessan was the ideal spot, just a few minutes drive from amenities and Fionnphort and Iona are very close by. The cottage is highly recommended and we look forward to returning in the future to this peaceful location and fantastic views.

Beautifully appointed accommodation in an amazing peaceful location overlooking the loch. Great opportunities for walkers with beautiful beaches nearby. A small but well stocked village shop just over a mile away and a pub that was open at the weekends when we were there. The properties owner was very friendly and helpful. We would happily return.

Fabulous cottage, it has everything you need. Bedrooms are super comfortable and well furnished, and the bathrooms are lovely. The living room is very cosy and the view is wonderful. This leads to a balcony which is an oasis for evening drinks, looking out over the loch. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need including washing products, bin bags etc.The garden is fenced and my cocker spaniel loved running around the cottage and watching the hares and sheep. The cottage is in a fantastic location for walks to the beach as well as visiting the rest of the island.
By Mandy Hickman stayed in August 2023
The cottage is even better than it looks on the website - we were stunned when we first walked in. It is so spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable - a true home from home. Amazing views and lovely to see the wildlife all around the cottage - sheep, rabbits, birds and even a hare. Plenty of walks from the doorstep but be aware that dogs need to be on a lead all the time because of the sheep everywhere - even on the beaches!

Taigh Cian was absolutely lovely and a beautifully, tastefully renovated cottage. Everything was so neat, smart, clean and very practical too. There was loads of good space in the bedrooms, bathrooms, entry hall, lounge and kitchen and the house felt very light, bright and airy. The beds were extremely comfortable and the towels very generous. The location was fabulous - completely quiet, peaceful and calming with a great view. So nice to have a sheltered balcony. Pub in Bunessan has re-opened. Very homely and cosy cottage.

Great location. What stunning views out to the loch! Cottage was great all you need from a holiday cottage! (Except wi-fi wasn’t great s my 15 year old wasn’t happy! No pub in the village either so that needs changing on the information you give!

Lovely cottage in great setting. Very warm and comfortable.
Plenty to do and see round and about and very near the ferry to Iona.
Good restaurants close by. Watch going to Tobermory on Monday , lots of places closed. Recommend the Glenforsa for lunch or the St Columba Hotel on Iona.

Wonderful location, so peaceful and quiet. Great views over the Loch. Nice walks from house, beaches were fantastic although I would encourage everyone to do a quick 10 minute beach clean to keep them looking so beautiful...
Bonus was new born lambs literally on the door step and amazing wildlife, eagles, divers and whooper swans on and around the Loch.
Ross of Mull didn't disappoint!
Would definitely recommend, cottage was beautiful, cosy and well equipped.

What a gem of a place Taigh Cian is, beautiful location with fabulous views over the loch and local wildlife. A warm and inviting cottage with everything you need whether staying in or going out. We found it a great location for exploring the whole of the Island on our days out and nice to come back to a warm cosy and inviting space to enjoy our evenings. If the clouds clear check out the stars at night, amazing skies. Hope to return in the future. Highly recommend

Stunning!! Beautiful cottage in an amazing location for walks to incredible beaches and to explore the island. We holiday in Scotland 3-4 times a year and this is by far the best cottage we have stayed in. Would give 6 stars if we could.

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. Very comfortable, well equipped and cosy for a winter stay. Fantastic beaches nearby which are all the better at low tide. We made the trip to Iona which was well worth it - make sure you allow enough time to walk to the northern beaches you won't be disappointed. We had a very relaxing break.
By Michael Jones stayed in November 2022
Our first time on Mull and we were blown away by the scenery, wildlife and superb accommodation. The cottage had everything you needed particularly as lots of eating venues had gone into out of season hours. Iona was well worth the trip, as we're the fabulous local walks and beaches around the cottage. The road up the west coast was a stunning experience but not for the fainthearted, magnificent scenery. Loved the whole week will be back.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location on Loch Assapol. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. In an excellent location for exploring the island and taking a trip to Iona. Lots of wildlife to see and lovely beaches within an easy walk. Very relaxing holiday.

The cottage is wonderful and in a great location on Loch Assapol, near Bunessan and tucked away so there is plenty of privacy with stunning views. 'Taigh Cian' is perfectly furnished with everything you would need for a comfortable stay regardless of the time year. Very much a home from home feel.
We loved the peace and quiet of this beautiful and rugged island. There are plenty of walks and lots of adventures to explore including the wonderful Kilvickeon Beach nearby.
We would love to return one day.

What a fantastic find ! The cottage was exactly as the pictures showed. The cottage was spotless inside, and the views were beautiful from all rooms. The hosts were lovely- and nothing was too much trouble. We were blessed with perfect weather every day- we didn’t want to leave !

Cottage was superb. Very clean, tidy and all equipment you need.
On arrival, milk had been provided which was a lovely gesture as was the shortbread.
Beautiful location and very close to the most amazing beach which I had all to myself.
If you are looking for wildlife then Mull is the place for you.
Could not fault the cottage.
One thing I will say is the WiFi is not brilliant but didn't bother me as it was nice to switch off a little from technology.
Would definitely stay again, cottage was fantastic.
By Dee Betts stayed in April 2022
Fantastic cottage, really warm and cosy. There is so many beautiful places to visit, we found some amazing walks which allowed us to see lots of wildlife. The cottage then welcomed us back for lazy evenings. Very few eating places were open but we knew this to be likely therefore had taken food with us, the cottage is a great place to cook. The Oban ferry was unable to sail due to storm conditions but they transferred the ticket to the ferry Lochaline- Fishnish, although quite drive, single track road it was pretty. Would be extremely happy to visit again.

Well equipped comfortable cottage. Children loved the garden. Great location for exploring West Mull. Lots of super beaches. This was our second visit and we came for 2 weeks this time. Allow plenty of time for driving to Craignure for the return ferry.

Wonderful cozy cottage to come home to at the end of a day exploring Mull which was much appreciated at the end of a Nov/Dec exploring day. The owners have thought of everything to make sure your stay is enjoyable . Beautiful setting over looking the loch and so peaceful, no light pollution.. great for dark sky enthusiasts.. the stars were amazing on a clear night. Close to the ferry to Iona and only 1 hour from the ferry at Craignure with a drive through stunning countryside with many contrasts.. hill road to the road metres from the seashore. A perfect cottage in a perfect location.

Cottage is well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated throughout. Huge porch for our dogs was very helpful! Fantastic beach down the track at Kilvickeon, which we had to ourselves in August!! Mull really is unspoilt and wild flowers and wildlife are in abundance including a Sea Eagle passing over the loch when I was washing up! Due to Covid, very little open on the Ross, so I would recommend bringing enough provisions to get through to Mon/Tues, when the small spa opens in Bunessan (limited hours) or booking ahead for home delivery although this again is limited delivery days.

Wonderful cottage in spectacular scenery. Great to have room for shoes, boots and coats without cluttering up the cottage. Very comfortable in all aspects. Easy to find following directions given and easy to park. Fantastic location.

This place is so homely, we would have loved just to have moved in. The views to wash up to will have you chained to the sink. Fabulous part of the island, the wildlife all around and stunning beaches. The cottage is lovely and clean, warm and cozy.... I’m not going to go on, as I don’t want to
make it too popular! We hope that will be returning soon.

Highly recommend Taigh Cian and hope to return one day. Stunning views from most windows. Large porch for walking boots etc. For those who usually struggle to be comfortable in a holiday cottage bed, these days we take a travel mattress topper but it wasn't needed here. Kitchen and dining area spacious and light and sitting at the breakfast bar, looking out at the sun coming up is a great start to the day. Then after a day exploring, sitting out on the decking with either a cuppa and some shortbread or something a little stronger. Wonderful!
By Karen & Andy Schofield stayed in September 2019
beautifully decorated, spacious property in idyllic setting. Our dogs loved the garden which wraps right around the house and there is sufficient parking for 2-3 cars. The property is within reasonable distance of world-class beaches, Knockvolagan being our favourite, and, even though it is situated right beside the loch, we were not bothered by the dreaded midges at all. We saw plenty of wildlife including wild goats and eagles, and would love to go back as there wasn't enough time in one week to see everything we wanted to
By Elspeth Valentine stayed in June 2019
The cottage was very comfortable & warm, set in a beautiful location with the village of Bunessan close by. Despite storm 'Gareth' we had a fabulous week.We arrived well equipped with waterproofs, thermals & strong walking boots! The scenery & wildlife of Mull are wonderful. There were 2 hen harriers to be seen from the cottage kitchen window each day. We also spotted an otter, golden eagles, buzzards, feral goats, seals, fallow deer & lots of red deer hinds & stags across the island. It has gone to the top of our favourite Island list! Would love to return to see Iona and staffa

We've been wanting to visit Mull for years. Upon arrival to the cottage we were blown away with how clean and beautiful the house is! From the lovely hand written note greeting us, always appreciate the personal touches. To the beautiful location set next to the lake. And yes we did see a White tailed sea eagle fly over the loch! Incredible, we will hopefully be back again soon.

We had a wonderful week staying at this cottage in such a stunning location we also had beautiful weather ! We walked from the cottage to beautiful beaches and bays - hidden gems ! Also to the clearance village of Shiaba. Wildlife was great with Golden Eagles, Buzzards, various Geese, Redwing, Deer and more ! We had a fabulous week myself, two sons age 14 and 8 and our dog Floyd. The weather was inclement, but it didn’t matter! The cottage is well appointed and very comfortable. The owner Donald lives not far away and is a gentleman. He was there to call on with things like flat tyres and fishing rod assembly! Thank you Donald you made us feel very welcome. The loch is a wonderful vista and we were welcomed on the first day be the bellow of a rutting stag over the other side of the loch. The south of the island has wonderful beaches, we saw seals and eagles, collected mussels for dinner.

This is the best cottage that we have ever stayed in. A lot of thought as gone into making this what it is - Brilliant. The owner should be - and probably is - very proud of it. The down side is that as time goes on it will be very difficult to book it. Excellent.

This really is a perfect cottage. On arrival it was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean with everything you need. It was great that we could bring our dog with us and to be able to walk from the cottage to the stunning Kilvickeon beach. The views from the decking area are super and lovely to relax there with a glass of wine. All three of us have had a brilliant holiday and really hope to return. Would highly recommend staying in Taigh Cian.

This cottage has to be one of the best we have stayed in. From arrival to departure it was perfect- clean, warm and cosy with fantastic views from all windows. A lot of hard work, thought and effort has gone in to make this a perfect holiday home the furnishings are exceptional and the location is second to none. We only hope we get the chance to book in again in the future and it has not been snapped up too far ahead as word gets out (which we are sure it will, being such a high standard}. If we could wish for anything more it would be that Taigh Cian was our home as our time there passed too quickly and we can't wait to return.
By C and K Penny stayed in March 2018
Arrived in foul weather. Walked in the door and felt warm and cosy in minutes.
Great location to get away from it all. Taigh Cian is clean, tidy, well equipped, with plenty of room to relax. The surrounding area is wonderful for walking and exploring the Ross of Mull.
Would very much recommend Taigh Cian to anyone looking to find peace and quiet in a lovely and well maintained cottage.

A superb cottage in a quiet location. If you are walkers, or bikers then you really dont need to travel far at all. There are great walks and treks directly from the doorstep, with superb empty beaches and coves to explore. The cottage is well equipped and was lovely and clean. For those that HAVE to work a little, the internet is reasonable for browsing and email etc.
Great, as always with Mull Cottages. We heartily recommend.

Perfect cottage in perfect location. Spotlessly clean with all facilities and essentials you could need. The Ross of mull is by far the best area to position yourself on mull - so many hidden beaches all to yourself and close to Iona for a bit of socialising. Can't recommend highly enough.
