Kilbeg is a lovely cottage, exceptionally clean and well maintained. With the best equipped kitchen in any cottage we have stayed in.
The location is a stunner, with abundant wildlife right outside.
Elizabeth let us know when the cottage was ready, a really nice touch meant we were hanging about waiting to go in.
I’d have rebooked it for next year if it wasn’t already booked!

Our 2nd visit to Kilbeg Cottage and certainly not our last. A very comfortable and spacious property in a wonderful location for wildlife. With the added benefit of a well kept lawn garden and a secure fence to keep our dog in and the visiting sheep and cattle out.

Our first trip to Mull, and what a wonderful cottage to have as our base. It had everything we needed and in a perfect location to tour round the island. We agree totally with the other reviews. Stunning. Peaceful. Relaxing. The wildlife is amazing. We have already booked Kilbeg Cottage for a week in 2025.

This was The Best Place my friend and I have stayed in. Perfect at every level for our requirements. We have stayed in more than 40 places over the past ten years, and Kilbeg combined all the best features we like! The excellent weather was a bonus and Mrs MacPhail was the loveliest of owners. Thank You.

Lovely cosy cottage in stunning, remote location. Only sheep and highland cattle as neighbours. Fenced garden was ideal for our pup, the only time on holiday he could run round off lead. Walked to the end of Glen Forza to see the plane memorial, saw stag in the forest. Ideal location to drive north to Loch Na keal, Ulva, Ardmore etc for walks, and hour and half to get Iona ferry. Thanks Elizabeth for a wonderful week, we’ll be back!

Seen eagles , deer, seals but sadly no otters. So we will just have to go back . There new cottage looks stunning it’s far enough away that you both have the same peace. Weather was great. We will return.

Second time we’ve stayed with Elizabeth but first at Kilbeg. As expected, the cottage is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The location is stunning. Enjoyed many walks up the glen without seeing another person for hours. Wildlife is all around and you can get up close and personal with it (5 white tailed eagles in the same air space right outside the cottage one day). A perfect location to take a dog. Condolences to Elizabeth on her sad news and we hope to see you again as we will be back to Kilbeg. Superb week away. Thank you.

Our 3d stay in Kilbeg. Felt like coming home. Comfortable, clean and beds are comfy too. Plenty of wildlife. 2 sea Eagles in tree opposite cottage couple of Golden Eagles and Buzzards, deer, toads and birds. They have built a new cottage near to Kilbeg but in no way does it intrude or interfere with your holiday or the views. Sad to hear of the passing of Hugh. Deepest condolences to Elizabeth and family. Will will return

A home from home and all on one level, exceptionally well equipped and maintained cottage, in an ideal location, with a secure garden to keep our dogs in and the visiting Highland Cattle out. The reassuring contact from the owner to make sure everything was as it should be was also much appreciated.

Lovely cottage in a wonderful location. So peaceful and surrounded by wildlife. We had white tailed eagles roost two nights in trees close by. Elizabeth, one of the owners was so helpful helping us get on to the island after our ferry was cancelled, telling us what to do! We were very lucky with fantastic weather. We'll definitely be going back.

The cottage is superb, so well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable, you could not want for more. The central location is absolutely perfect, the private Glen Forsa is idyllic and so peaceful, with wildlife quite literally on your doorstep, being woken every morning by calling Curlew, Cuckoo and the gentle moo's of Highland Coo's is out of this world. We could not have enjoyed our week more and we found the central location of the cottage very useful. Thank you very much to our hosts Elizabeth & Hugh.

Just a short gravel track drive off the widest road on Mull! It’s not currently signposted to Glen Forsa Estate so use what3words: sedative.innovate.dairies to navigate. A peaceful and well-equipped cottage with several inquisitive heilin’ coos & calves, nesting starlings and chirpy chaffinch pair for company. LOVED the big notebook of guests’ birdie & beastie observations. An amazing place to base ourselves for a most restorative week - thank you too to our attentive hosts, Elizabeth & Hugh.

This stunning cottage was truly home from home, extremely well equipped spotlessly clean, toasty warm, off the beaten track set in beautiful landscape but only 3 minutes back to a main road. Seeing the coo's & red deer daily was wonderful. Salen is only 5 minutes away with a Spa & fuel station.
The owners of Kilbeg were truly wonderful kind & helpful. We were very sad to leave this little gem!

A wonderful break in a fabulous property. We saw white tailed eagles and red deer from the cottage itself as well as many other, smaller birds. We bought bird seed for the feeders to encourage them too. Kilbeg has the best equipped kitchen of any property I've ever stayed it! We wanted for nothing and Elizabeth is kindness itself.
The cottage is comfortable and welcoming. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a lovely cottage. Perfectly situated to explore the whole of Mull, although you don’t have to go far to see the amazing wildlife. We enjoyed bird watching from the cottage- plenty of small birds in the garden, curlews and lapwings on the hills and surrounding farmland, eagles overhead. The children enjoyed the garden. Comfy beds and everything we needed for a great holiday. Lovely walks from the cottage, be sure to go down to the river. I’m sure we will return.

Such a beautiful Cottage and such a stunning location. One of the cleanest cottages we have stayed in where I felt I did'nt need to clean anything before I used it. It is equipped with everything you need. The glen is beautiful, we saw Sea eagles, buzzards, herons and there was also a Stag standing amongst the Highland Cows. This cottage is in such a peaceful place ideal to just chill out. The doggies loved the enclosed garden too. Oh my hubby saw bats flying around in the evening too. Hugh and Elizabeth popped along to check all was ok. Hope to return in the future.

our second stay in this beautiful location. Absolutley loved it. Cottage clean and comfortable thanks to Elizabeth. Hugh came to see all was OK. Wildlife didn't let us down. Sea and golden eagles, buzzards, deer on hills and a stray stag next to the cottage. Bats flying round in the evening and the black cat was still visiting on an evening. We were very lucky with the weather, sunny all week. The dogs love the enclosed garden . Will certainly book again.
    Thank you Elizabeth and Hugh.

A beautiful cottage very clean with a very well equipped kitchen. Dining in the little conservatory while watching the highland cows and their calves wandering by the window after spotting white tailed eagles, golden eagles, otters etc. in the day was wonderful.
The cottage is ideally situated for a base camp close enough to local amenities but with a feeling of being away from all hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We stayed here a few years ago. I used the cottage as a base for four weeks while writing 'Walking the Isle of Mull' guidebook. It was perfect for that. We were happy to come back, for the isolation as much as anything else, although anyone with a low-slung car might have problems on the approach road. That aside we were hoping for some starry skies, which we'd enjoyed previously. But it was not to be, alas. But that didn't detract from the pleasure of the place and the setting. We've used Isle of Mull Cottages previously, and would happily do so again, although I doubt we would return to Kilbeg...nothing wrong with it at all; it's just that there are other places that better suit what I have to do when I visit Mull...which is every year, sometimes more than once.

Really enjoyed our stay 5th to 12th May 18. The cottage was excellent and in a beautiful location giving easy access to the rest of the island. Good location for walks with the dog and river walks. If you are into bird watching and wildlife, this is the place for you. If any faults were to be highlighted, it was not with teh cottage or the local farmer who we found exceptionally accommodating and friendly, it is with Mull itself, The bars and food outlets need to take a leaf out of The Lake District and Cornwall's books and be more accommodating for dogs, after all, they are part of the family and you cannot leave them in the cottage or car while you go for a meal, so the alternative is that we eat in and the businesses lose out.

Wow, what a fantastic cottage in the most idyllic setting. It was exactly as advertised and we felt very at home. It was so nice to have a fully enclosed garden for the dogs to enjoy. There is so much wildlife around the cottage, we spotted white tailed sea eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers and much more. The Isle of Mull is gorgeous and we definately found our 'little piece of heaven' at Kilbeg cottage.......we will return.

What a lovely cottage. It feels idyllic and remote and yet it's only 10 minutes to all the local amenities. All the small touches - every possible accessory we could want, flowers on the table - made it a home from home. You can get everywhere on the island from here, and you can walk out the front door to some fabulous walks. It's a great place to recharge your batteries in a home-from-home setting.

Kilbeg was everything we hoped for and more. Beautiful, tranquil location with no near neighbours and a fully enclosed garden for our dog to run around in. Despite the rural location the cottage is centrally located so it's a great base from which to explore. The cottage is extremely well equipped with lots of thoughtful little additions. Reading the guest book, we can see that guests often return and we can see why. We think Kilbeg is a special place to spend time.
