Katrine Cottage is situated on the shore of Loch Scridain with fantastic sea views looking towards the mountain summit of Ben More, Mull’s highest peak. You’ll find it all too easy to while away the morning with a cup of coffee as you soak up the loch views and passing wildlife from the enormous windows in the living room here. This is an exceptional holiday cottage on the Isle of Mull, with quality furnishings and everything you need for a most comfortable and relaxing stay.

Katrine Cottage sits within a spacious garden, with a sun terrace at the front equipped with table and chairs for outdoor dining and a large lawned area. The views across the loch are fantastic and good wildlife watching awaits; remember to bring your binoculars!

Entering the cottage, there is a utility area adjoining the kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped with quality appliances and a good range of utensils. This leads to the open plan living and dining area - a fantastic space with a real wow factor thanks to the sea views through the huge windows, with sliding doors opening to the terrace and lawn. This is a spacious room with a cosy wood burning stove and comfortable seating, prettily finished with plaid cushions - a relaxing vantage point from which to watch Mull’s landscape and wildlife. Wireless internet access is also provided.

A spacious hallway leads to all bedrooms and bathrooms. The large double bedroom has a king-sized bed, plenty of storage, a built-in wardrobe and a great view of Ben More from the window. Quality curtains, bedding and mattresses in all the bedrooms ensure a good night's sleep. The twin bedroom has two single beds and ample space and storage for belongings. The third bedroom has sea views and is equipped with bunk beds, each with LED flexi lights for reading. Stay at this cottage and the sea views rarely leave your side, ensuring you enjoy the ultimate experience of this charming island.

There are two separate bathrooms off the main hall, both with underfloor heating to keep you cosy. One has a large walk-in shower, w.c. and basin. The other offers a bath, w.c. and basin.

This self-catering property is located in Pennygheal in the Isle of Mull’s southwest. This little hamlet stretches along the shore of Loch Scridain, where there are many pebble bays to explore among the rocky coast and woodland. It’s a great spot for spotting wildlife, especially waders and, if you’re lucky, the odd otter too! There is a small village shop and post office where refreshments can be purchased and a pub in the village.

Carsaig is a short distance from the cottage and offers excellent coastal walks, a sandy beach and dramatic cliffs. Heading westwards are the villages of Bunessan and Fionnphort. Bunessan has shops and eateries as does Fionnphort, where you can get the ferry to visit Iona.

This area of the Isle of Mull has some of the best white sandy beaches on the island. There are a wide range of habitats catering for Mull's fantastic wildlife, from the rocky peak of Ben More to wide open glens, mature woodland, rocky coast and estuary. Any point along the shore of Loch Scridain is great place to sit and watch for passing marine mammals, as well as otters and sea birds.
