Things to Do
The house has easy access to the village amenities which include a village shop and post office and the Bellachroy pub - serving lunches and evening meals throughout the summer season. Heading out in the opposite direction, guests can walk from the doorstep either around the head of Loch Cuin on the single track road, or out onto one of the rocky outcrops with a pair of binoculars to spot some of the wildlife that inhabits the area. Birds of prey, waders, otters and deer all frequent the area.
The cottage is a fifteen minute drive from Calgary beach, with other sections of coastline to explore on the way such as the forestry track down to Langamull (another great beach). There's also the Calgary tearoom and gallery to stop at for lunch or refreshments and a woodland nature walk; or Am Birlinn restaurant for some excellent seafood. The rugged west coast of the island is within easy striking distance, with Lip na Cloiche gardens or the Isle of Ulva to visit, and some fantastic walking opportunities too.
Tobermory, the island's main town, is around twenty minutes away by car, where whale watching trips depart from. Holidaymakers enjoy taking in the harbour and browsing the gift shops here, visiting the arts centre or museum, or taking a guided tour of the distillery.
