Things to Do
The Ross of Mull has a superb coastline and there are some well known walks to enjoy in the area, such as the fantastic coastal walk to Carsaig Arches, with its towering cliffs and wild goats. There are beautiful sandy bays to discover on foot too, with some hidden gems tucked away on the south coast. There are numerous deserted villages on this part of the island, and the walk to the Shiaba ruins near Scoor is an interesting one with lovely views. Another recommendation is a visit to the Isle of Erraid, which can be reached by crossing a sandbar on a low tide.
Birdlife, flora and fauna are terrific here too - otters are often seen on the drive along the length of Loch Scridain, as well as a wide variety of birds, particularly waders, and of course the huge white tailed sea eagles that the island is well known for.
