Ulva House Cottage is a beautiful, old stone cottage set in the grounds of Ulva House in Tobermory, the Isle of Mull’s picture-postcard main town. It is the former 'carriage house' and has been lovingly renovated by the owners to provide quality accommodation for four guests. Ulva Cottage is a very well-appointed and comfortable base for your holiday, with excellent views over Tobermory harbour and the Sound of Mull.
The house is situated in a residential area, a short steep walk from the harbour front. A parking space with room for two cars is just across the road from the house, and a gate at the roadside leads to the garden and entrance to the cottage.
The ground floor is split over two levels, with a good sized open plan dining area and kitchen at one end, and a living room and double bedroom a few steps below this level at the opposite end. The kitchen is very well-appointed and equipped for self-catering, and a good selection of crockery and glassware is provided too. The lovely dining table is a great addition, so families can enjoy a relaxing meal together after a day's exploration. There is also a bathroom on this level with a small sized bath with overhead shower, hand basin and w.c.
The living area is beautifully furnished and enjoys lots of natural light, with outstanding sea views from the bay window. There is a perfectly placed armchair in this space – it’s a great spot to take in the view with a morning cup of tea or coffee. A lovely flame effect electric stove provides a cosy glow for the evenings. There is also an external door in this room, which leads to the side entrance and front garden area, where there is an outdoor dining table and chairs, making the most of the lovely setting and views.
Adjoining the living room is the double bedroom, which is again well furnished with a comfortable mattress and very high quality bed linen, duvets, pillows and curtains to ensure a great night's sleep. There is lots of space for your belongings and, as with the rest of the property, guests will appreciate the standard of finish and attention to detail.
Upstairs a hall area leads to the twin bedroom, which comes with the same comforts and great sea views. There is a family bathroom on this floor too, with a contemporary shower cubicle, basin and w.c.
The cottage sits in the grounds of Ulva House and is a short walk (five minutes) from the cafes, shops and galleries that line the harbour front. Tobermory is a picturesque seaside town with an Arts Centre, small theatre (on the outskirts of town) and a couple of excellent coastal walks. There are boat trips leaving from the harbour on a daily basis during the summer and Calgary beach is a 30-minute drive from the town. A great little children's play park is just around the corner from the cottage, which families will appreciate too.

Kitchen and Dining Room: Open plan kitchen and dining area. Fully fitted kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer and radio/cd player. Dining table with quality tableware and utensils provided.
Bedrooms: Ulva Cottage has a double bedroom on the ground floor and a twin room on the first floor
Bathrooms: On the ground floor there is a bathroom with bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash hand basin. This bath has an integral seat and is shorter than standard. There is a shower room on the first floor which is fitted with a Mira electric shower, hand basin and toilet. Both bathrooms have heated towel rails.
Garden: There are table and chairs provided outside the cottage for guests to use, with sea views from this area. The gardens surrounding Ulva House and the Cottage are terraced (fairly steep hill). Two minutes walk from Ulva House is a great children’s playground.
Heating: Electric heating throughout the house which is fully adjustable.
Bed Linen and Towels: Quality bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
