Such a lovely, warm and cosy house to relax in after a days of walking round the island! Great kitchen and dining area and loved the log burner. Nice and secluded but only a 10 to 15 min drive into Tobermory and Dervaig. Great views from the living room and decking area - sat for many hours with our binoculars watching the wildlife.

Another great week at Torrness. Beautifully warm and cosy house. Comfy beds and fully equipped kitchen. Great views from the living room. We had lots of birds at the feeders. A Buzzard landed on the flag pole every day and we watched a pair of golden eagles soaring above the roof. Gentle walk to Loch Torr where we viewed many birds from the Hyde Cannot wait to return to beautiful Mull.

Just back from a wonderful stay at Torness. Had a very relaxing week in this lovely property that had amazing views. Ideally located on the island. The enclosed garden was a bonus for our pooches. The house was very well laid out and comfortable, a real home from home, we will be back.

Excellent secluded location. Great layout of property and the only secure garden our terriers have failed to escape from. However, we found the property lacking in cleanliness and tired and somewhat shabby in places. It was disappointing to find only a single tea towel and no oven gloves. The boiler control was broken and had to be left on permanently. The outdoor furniture was filthy and tatty. All this is such a shame and ought to be a relatively straightforward an inexpensive fix. What a shame as we had an amazing holiday on the Island.

There is so much that is great about this property - secluded location, beautiful interior design, great views, spacious, convenient to explore north Mull, enclosed garden, cosy. However, some aspects are in need of maintenance as other reviews have pointed out. Some of these issues appear to be known for months. Also the twin beds are not ideal for older children/adults - our teenage son found them flimsy and uncomfortable. The drive is steep and unmade (but short) - not everyone will be comfortable with this. But we would consider staying again.

Lovely location, secluded and private. Very comfortable inside. Surrounded by wildlife. The garden was great for our dogs - the fencing you can see on the pictures also has mesh wire so they can’t go through it, although it isn’t very high so if your dogs are jumpers be aware!

We’re sharing a secret with you!
Torrness is a stunning location we stayed with our daughter and granddaughters(teenagers).
It ticked all our boxes; excellent wildlife, good walks straight from the door, spacious, clean, well equipped, comfy, good wi-fi.
We’re looking forward to our return later in the year.

Just returned from a wonderful week at the stunning Torrness. The house is absolutely beautiful. The large kitchen diner is fantastic, as is the rest of this bright clean and very spacious house. Very comfortable beds ,great sized rooms and spotlessley clean. We loved the bird feeders and all the little visitors, woodpeckers, chaffinches, tits and many more. Lunch most days we had on the front terrace as the weather was superb. Just a short drive into Tobermory and a loving walk to Loch Torr. We will definitely return to this magical place.

In a lovely location, with easy access to Loch Torr and the surrounding area. Nice and secluded and yet still close enough to Tobermory. Despite this stunning location I wouldn’t stay again.
Lock in the bathroom door didn’t work, dishes were left half cleaned, the shower cubicle was naff cheap plastic which felt like it would snap if you moved and the door on it didn’t shut so you risked soaking everywhere! The decking was half painted and we were told there was an issue with the water.

This was one of the most relaxing holidays we can remember. The peace and quiet was everything we needed and watching the birds in the garden helped too. House has everything we needed and we would certainly be looking to going back. Thanks

Such a peaceful location. Can't remember the last time we stayed somewhere so wonderfully quiet. The views were fantastic and we watched the birds on the bird feeder for hours!
Really well presented house and exceptionally clean with very spacious bedrooms. Loved the wood burner in the kitchen. Kids liked the provided games, and the huge TV made for good viewing of the rugby. Really hope to be back.

A really lovely place to stay. Felt like home and was very well placed for our dogs.
Such a warm house, too. We didn't want to leave!
As previous reviewers have said, it's a little tired in places and a couple of areas needed a bit more of a clean. I think all of the mattresses could do with replacing, they all seemed fairly well worn and uncomfortable, which was a shame.
The location though is amazing, so peaceful and great for spotting all sorts of wildlife. We really enjoyed our week here and will be back to Mull very soon.

Lovely and warm, especially with the log burner! The property was a bit tired, but clean and we felt comfortable there. It's private and close to the road and is a great base for exploring the north of the island in particular. The rooms are generously proportioned and the livingroom window makes the most of the view. Not too far from grocery shops in Dervaig and Tobermory.

A stay for my wife's 30th. A nice location, but property unclean, in need of renovation, had to clean ourselves on arrival, all carpets badly stained, dirty, dusty, cobwebs, my wife is disabled through critical illness so was very hard, uncomfortable bed and pillows. Green slime in the shower with foul smell so we used the bath, matress stained, broken furniture.Had to take our recycling to tobermory as outdoor bin full of glass. This property is a great size, and has real potential with a thorough clean, upgrading and comfortable beds and pillows, and to be more accessible for disabled guests.

Lovely cottage in an amazing setting. This is our fourth time booking with Isle of Mull cottages and all the cottages have been excellent as has the customer service. What we particularly liked about this cottage was the lounge and it’s view and the fact that there was a totally enclosed grass garden for our dogs. Saw deer every night on the far hills and a White Tailed Eagle flew over the cottage one day. Excellent spots of Otter at other parts of the island. Eagles at Loch Na Keal. Excellent holiday and cottage.

Second visit at this time of year and didn’t disappoint. The house is lovely and cozy and lots of room for family to do their own thing. Windows in the lounge amazing for watching the weather and colours change throughout the day. Lovely walk up past the hide on Loch Torr and really near Tobermory for extra supplies.

Just returned from a week at the beautiful Torrness, the second visit this year. Beautiful house, bright spacious airy, and spotlessly clean. The beautiful Egyptian cotton bedding is a real treat. I recommend the Isle of Mull Cheese for a lovely lunch, great service, and lovely views. We had gorgeous weather for the entire week, and watched a pair of sea eagles soaring over the house for several minutes, an enchanting sight.

The best thing about Torrness is the peace and quiet. The great thing about Torrness is the wildlife on its doorstep and within easy walking distance. Golden eagles; mountain hare; white tailed eagle; dragonflies and damselflies; to name but a few; and the amount of wild flowers is in itself wonderful.
Downside to property during our visit was the lack of prior cleaning by previous renters. Dog(s) had been allowed to stay and the renters had not properly cleaned house of dog hairs. Nor did others clean their spilled foods & drink, leaving ingrained dirt & stains on carpets.

Torrness is a gorgeous property, with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. Stunning sea eagles flew past most days also Hen Harriers and a Woodpecker family visited feeders each morning giving us all a brilliant display. House was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want to make your stay perfect. Tobermory is a 15-minute drive and the beautiful Calgary Bay is a short drive away. We will definitely be returning to this lovely house.

Very comfortable house, nice and warm and quiet, even though the weather was wild outside! Good walks and spectacular scenery from the front door. Lots of space for drying wet gear and wet dogs! Useful local shop in Dervaig and a wider range of shops in Tobermory, 15 mins away.

Beautiful spacious property with amazing views. Despite contents being cut back due to coronavirus we had everything we needed. Loved watching the birds on the feeder and often saw eagles too. Well situated, near enough to get supplies in Dervaig and an easy 15-20 minute scenic drive to Tobermory.

Had a lovely weekend at Torrness in October. the house is beautiful and was spotless when we arrived. Only stayed for 2 nights but will definitely be going back for a longer visit soon. Loads of wildlife in the area (eagles, deer etc) and lovely walks from the doorstep. We walked along Loch Torr, which is only a few 100m away from the house and saw an eagle. Had lunch at the Bellachroy in Dervaig which was fab. Gorgeous house, fab location for walking and exploring the rest of Mull.

My first visit to Mull was in September and I fell in love with the island. On the ferry across, we were accompanied by a pod of dolphins and the trip just got better from there! Stayed at Torrness which is a beautiful house. All on one level and really well decorated/furnished. The location of the house is great for getting around the north of Mull (Tobermory 12 minutes, Calgary 20 mins). Dervaig is a five minute drive but we actually decided to walk it which took 50 minutes (including a photo stop from the viewpoint above the village). Stayed here again in Oct. Fab!

We stayed at Torrness for 5 days in August and it was amazing. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfortable. The location of the house is ideal for exploring the north part of the island with Tobermory only a 10-15 minute drive away. The village of Dervaig is only a five minute drive and Calgary bay took 20 minutes. We have been to Mull on many occasions and this is now our favourite place to stay. We even saw White Tailed eagles from the deck at the front of the house! We have already booked to return in April.
