After making use of the ample parking to the rear of the cottage, allowing you to make the most of the sea views to the front, an inviting welcome awaits at Tigh Beag, a purpose-built property for four within walking distance of the sea, the village shop and the pub.

Entering the cottage, there’s a convenient porch to pull off your walking boots and store your beach gear ready for a week of coastal adventures. The spacious and bright living room beckons to your right, where the sea views take centre stage enjoyed through large windows, with two comfortable sofas and a television too.

Leading off the living room is a sun room, which is certain to be the favourite spot for guests during their stay. A beautiful double-height space with triple aspect windows, settle back into the cosy armchairs and soak up the views out to sea. This is a great space to watch the sunset with its westerly aspect, to stargaze on a clear winter’s night, or simply to enjoy your morning coffee.

The dining kitchen is also accessed from the living room and guests will appreciate the contemporary finish and great range of appliances and cookware, with a full-size fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, electric oven and hob and table and chairs for four.

To the other side of the cottage lie the family bathroom and sleeping quarters, creating a nice sense of privacy and peace and quiet. The twin bedroom to the front also enjoys a sea view, with a useful built-in wardrobe to unpack and make yourselves at home. The master double bedroom has views to the countryside behind the cottage, with a dressing table and built-in wardrobe too.

Both bedrooms are served by a well-appointed bathroom with bath, shower, W.C, basin and heated towel rail.

A brilliant base from which to explore the Ross of Mull, guests will appreciate having the amenities in the village of Bunessan within a short walk along the lane following Loch na Lathaich to the head of the bay. A short drive to Fionnphort offers wider choice for evening meals, with the highly regarded Ninth Wave restaurant and the Creel Seafood Bar to enjoy.

Tigh Beag is located in an excellent area for coastal and maritime activities, with the idyllic sandy beaches at Ardalanish, Uisken and Fidden within easy reach, which are popular spots to swim or kayak, as well as coves found further off the beaten track, like Market Bay, rumoured to be the beach of choice of the Royal family!

Boat trips depart nearby from Fionnphort to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and the passenger ferry also delivers you across the sound to Iona, where you can tour the abbey, enjoy lunch in the quaint village of Baile Mor and walk to Iona’s North beach, all with excellent views back to Mull. The isle of Erraid can also be reached from Mull at low tide, by crossing the tidal sandbar from Knockvologan beach – just make sure to check the tides and cross back in time!

The island’s harbour town of Tobermory lies around an hour and 45 minutes’ drive to the north, with the option to enjoy a circular route through Glen More and the east coast on the way up, returning along the west coast of Loch na Keal and past the dramatic Gribun cliffs.
