Snipe Cottage enjoys an stunning location, with an uninterrupted view of the sea; outlying Hebridean islands and surrounding countryside. Set up on the hillside above Loch Tuath, in the north west of the Isle of Mull, this wonderful holiday cottage offers guests a superb base to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

A lovely drive from the ferry terminal at Craignure takes guests around to the west coast of Mull where Snipe Cottage sits within a large enclosed garden at Torloisk. There is parking for three or more cars beside the house and the garden rises behind the cottage up to the stepped hillsides beyond, with a bench beneath mature trees providing a great spot to take in this beautiful setting.

Entering the house, there is a hall area with lots of space to store coats, shoes and other belongings. From the hall you enter the large open plan living, dining and kitchen area which features a wall of glass that looks out over the front garden and towards the sea and Isles of Ulva and Gometra. The mix of beautiful honed solid stone flooring with underfloor heating; comfortable sofas and contemporary furnishings, make this large family room, a warm and inviting space.

There are a great selection of books about Mull provided, as well as board games and a music system to entertain. The wood burner provides a cosy glow in the evenings and adds to the ambience for family gatherings, and a glass corner window in the living area allows you to make the most of the late evening light and enjoy the sunsets.

The dining table has plenty of space for six people and is perfectly positioned to appreciate the outstanding views over a morning coffee. Guests can take in views of the summit of Ben More, Loch Tuath and the Treshnish Isles. The smart, fitted kitchen is very well equipped for self-catering, equipped with all the appliances you need, and there is a contemporary bathroom on the ground floor with w.c. basin and large walk in shower.

Upstairs a light and roomy hall leads to all three bedrooms, each with the same excellent views over the sea. The master double bedroom with super king sized bed, has its own en-suite facilities with a shower cubicle, w.c. and basin. Further along the hall is the twin bedroom, followed by a second double bedroom - also very spacious and with lots of storage. Guests will appreciate the pocket sprung mattresses, quality bed linen and towels and nice mix of furnishings and artwork. There is also a separate family bathroom upstairs with basin, w.c. and a bath with shower.

Within the grounds of Snipe Cottage is a detached games room which guests can use. There is a pool table and table football and plenty of space for children to play in. A brilliant extra addition to the property - providing entertainment for all the family!

The surrounding area is renowned for its beauty. To the south is the Loch na Keal National Scenic Area – a beautiful part of Mull; great for wildlife and excellent views. The Isle of Ulva can be explored on foot by first taking the short ferry trip across to the island. The closest restaurant to the house, Croft 3, serves excellent Sunday roasts (booking recommended).

The local beach, Traigh na Cille, is at nearby Kilninian, and the well know white sands of Calgary Bay are just twenty minutes to the north. Dervaig is the closest village, with a well stocked shop, restaurant and inn. Tobermory is a thirty five minute drive away, where you will find a large range of shops and places to eat.

Property Overview

Open plan living room and kitchen: Large space with dining area, comfortable seating area around the wood burning stove, and fully fitted kitchen with appliances. The kitchen has a large range cooker with electric oven, rotisary oven and large gas hob. There is a dishwasher, fridge freezer (50/50), microwave and coffee maker too. The house has a great selection of reading material, television, DVD player and music system. Radio too. The washing machine is housed in a hall cupboard on the ground floor. Large heated airer provided and tumble dryer.

Bedrooms: There are three bedrooms on the first floor in Snipe Cottage. Two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. Both doubles are superking sized beds, with pocket sprung mattresses. Hairdryers in all bedrooms.

Bathroom: There is a bathroom on the ground floor with bath (and shower over), basin and w.c. On the first floor, the master double bedroom has an ensuite shower room with hand basin and w.c. and there is a separate family bathroom with large walk in shower, basin and w.c.

Garden: The garden surrounding Snipe Cottage is fully enclosed and there is parking space for several cars on the drive. There is a barbeque provided too. The outbuilding at the property has a superb games room with pool table, table football, seating and stove. The upstairs space in this building is closed to guests.

Heating: There is underfloor heating throughout the ground floor of the property with radiators heating the upstairs floor. Electric towel rails in all bathrooms.

Wood Burning Stove: There is a wood burning stove in the living area and wood is provided for your stay.

Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and towels are provided.
