Cocooned within centuries-old stone walls, sea view, pet friendly cottage Seabank has been luxuriously reimagined with character and contemporary convenience effortlessly blended into one. A hidden gem of the Hebrides, guests will be enraptured by the ever-changing vistas over the tidal Kilfinichen Bay from a cottage promising total comfort and indulgence, with some of the island’s wildest and most beautiful landscapes explorable from the front door.
Arriving at Seabank, there is parking for a couple of cars on the driveway and layby to the front of the cottage. Seabank is a semi-detached cottage, one in a row of three traditional stone built properties. Stepping up over the stone threshold, you are welcomed into the heart of the home, a modern and superbly appointed dining kitchen.
Sociable benches are drawn up around the dining table, with a wonderful collection of artworks decorating the walls, making for a lovely atmosphere for mealtimes. Complete with cookbooks and a wealth of equipment, every detail has been considered to create a true home-from-home experience and is certain to impress the chefs of the group, all with a beautiful sea view.
The kitchen affords access to both the living and sleeping quarters of the cottage. The living room is wonderfully bright, with triple aspect windows and French doors framing panoramic views across the sea loch. The beautiful artworks and attention to detail continue in here, providing the perfect spot to gather together for a film, board game or simply to enjoy a page turner chosen from the bookshelf.
In the other wing of the cottage lie the two bedrooms and family bathroom, which benefits from a bath, separate shower, W.C, basin and heated towel rail. There’s a cosy single bedroom with hanging space and a chest of drawers to stow belongings.
The master bedroom promises a real treat, with the window framing the sea view and an idyllic window seat from which to soak it in over morning coffee, or a final night cap. Well furnished with a wardrobe, dressing table and mirror, the king-sized bed promises a perfect night’s sleep after a day spent exploring the island’s treasures.
Outside the cottage, the fully enclosed garden hugs the property before rising steeply uphill, with several sitting areas to make the most of the spell-binding sea views, enjoy an evening of alfresco entertainment, or simply take a seat and watch for otters passing this stretch of coast.
Located at Tiroran in the south west of the island, guests staying at Seabank enjoy easy access to the dramatic scenery and walking trails on the Burg, leading to the famous basalt lava cast of a fossilised tree, as well as easier going ambles through the Tiroran Community Woodland, or along the shore of Kilfinichen Bay, Loch Beg and Loch Scridain.
A scenic drive south brings you further onto the Ross of Mull, where guests may enjoy an evening meal at the inn in Pennyghael, or further afield at the Ninth Wave in Fionnphort, after exploring the beautiful shell-sand beaches. Venturing north, the beautiful scenery of Loch na Keal and its island vistas awaits, with an abundance of wildlife to encounter, and access to the towering munro, Ben More.
