Nestled into the curves of the glen, with hills and woodland gently rising in the distance, Prairie Cottage offers guests a peaceful retreat while still being in easy reach of amenities. Stroll along the nearby beach shores, wander around Aros castle or settle down for some otter spotting… this is the perfect place to do it.

Prairie Cottage is a beautifully presented holiday cottage on the Isle of Mull’s east coast, two miles north of the village of Salen. The cottage is detached and sits within an enclosed garden with views toward Glen Aros and the surrounding woodland.

This is an excellent choice for guests who appreciate a well-equipped and impeccably kept cottage, suitable for year-round stays. Contemporary styling and home comforts make it a welcoming house and the outdoor space and peaceful surrounds add to the ambience.

Guests can park on the drive and enter the cottage via the porch, which has a utility area with plenty of storage space, a sink and a washing machine. On the ground floor, there is an open plan living and kitchen area. This is a relaxing space with a multi fuel stove, and a selection of books and games too. There is plenty of comfortable seating and lots of natural light filling this welcoming space. Warm splashes of red add character to the space and beautifully complement the rustic wooden finishes.

The kitchen is modern and very well-equipped, with a sociable breakfast bar with comfortable stools too. There is a separate dining table for mealtimes shared with family or friends. The twin bedroom is also located on the ground floor, with lots of storage space for belongings and tranquil views over the garden. A bathroom on the ground floor has a walk-in shower unit, w.c. and basin.

Upstairs is the spacious master double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The area at the top of the stairs has seating and a television with a DVD player. There is a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and lots of space for personal belongings to be stored. The ensuite bathroom contains a bath with shower over, basin and w.c. and is a truly relaxing space to enjoy a soak.

The garden around the house is enclosed with lawned areas and picnic bench, so you can sit and take in the surrounds and enjoy a meal outdoors. There are a handful of neighbouring properties, but the cottage still retains some privacy. From the cottage, you can enjoy some lovely walks including the loop around Aros estuary and castle, which has great sea views and shingle beaches to explore. You can walk the shoreline looking for treasures and take a pair of binoculars so that you don't miss out on any birdlife. Otters reside here too, so keep your eyes peeled at all times!

Prairie Cottage is the perfect size for a small family group or a getaway for two and has a very good location for easy exploration of many parts of Mull. Tobermory, Mull’s main town, is just 15 minutes’ drive to the north. The National Scenic Area at Loch na Keal is only 15 minutes away too, and the stunning Calgary beach is a 35- minute drive from the house. Salen is the closest village, which has a well-stocked shop, cafés, filling station and hotel with restaurant and bar – everything you could need for a relaxing, memorable stay.

Bathrooms: The en-suite for the double bedroom has a bath with shower over, basin and w.c and is on the first floor. The bathroom on the ground floor has a walk in shower unit, basin and w.c and has underfloor heating.

Garden: Drive with parking space for two cars. Enclosed garden with outdoor seating. There is a whirly gig in the garden for drying clothes.

Heating: Oil fired central heating.

Multi Fuel Stove: A starter supply of wood and coal are provided. More fuel can be bought at the filling station in Salen.

Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
