Cottage was home from home. Beautifully clean and with everything needed for our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week getting to know the locals who made us feel very welcome and exploring Mull.

A well appointed, cosy and immaculately clean cottage in a lovely village. Nearby pub and village store. A walk to the nearby Quinish Point is very worthwhile (3 miles each way). A short walk from Tobermoray to the lighthouse is also good.
A trip with "Wildlife on Mull" resulted in us seeing Sea and Golden Eagles, red and fallow deer, other sea birds.
Duart castle is worth a visit.

Back again to our home from home.
Cosy, welcoming, spotlessly clean AND RELAXING !
Great weather, the island was getting ready for the Mull Rally.
Abundance of eating out places.
We'll be back (as Arnie said)

Lily Bank Smiddy is perfectly situated to explore the north of Mull.
It has a pub and well stocked shop near by . The cottage is well maintained, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were blessed with beautiful weather all week. Langamull beach, Calgary Bay And Glengorm Castle are worth a visit. Lucky to see an Osprey passing through the loch.

Third stay knowing the cottage would be comfortable, clean and cosy so a relaxed arrival.
A generous gift found on the kitchen table.
By chance the week was all sunshine and heat so the loch sparkled, the slopes glowed and a feeling of peace surrounded us.
Thanks to Catherine for her commitment to 'getting it right'.

This was our second stay at Lilybank Smiddy, we really love this property, a real home from home that is spotlessly clean with all the creature comforts you would expect and more. It is brilliantly placed for visiting lots of places and the village has a great shop and the Bellachroy Hotel and pub was a great venue for food and a wee dram. Catherine the owner lovely and chatty when not busy and a nice gift of wine and biscuits. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Lilybank Smiddy was just perfect and a real home from home with all the creature comforts you would expect and more. The location was fabulous, the garden was great too perfect for a bottle of wine on a sunny evening. We’ve had a bad experience previously with beds at a different, but not this time the beds were so comfortable which can make or break a holiday. In short we wouldn’t hesitate to book again when we are looking at returning to the beautiful Isle of Mull

Excellent cottage situated in a beautiful location with all the facilities we needed for our holiday and is spotlessly clean and makes us feel very much at home. It was our second visit and is ideally placed to explore the whole island.

We stayed as a family of four and we had everything we needed and more, both in terms of what this gorgeous cottage offered and in terms of the the stunning local and surroundings areas. Our break was the perfect balance of outdoors and cosy indoors, we would love to go back!

A lovely standalone cottage close to Loch Cuin in a beautiful setting. It is well maintained, well equipped and very clean. The owner lives nearby, is very friendly, helpful but in no way obtrusive. The cottage is highly recommended.

Lilybank Smiddy was a perfect spot to explore the north of Mull without having to spend ages in the car. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The loch is close by, as were the sheep passing through each day. Loved watching the birds on the feeders and seeing rabbits in the garden. Lovely fesh eggs for breakfast from the free range hens next door at the owner's farm. Just lovely.

Fabulous cottage. Well equipped, warm and cosy, comfy beds, good shower, excellent kitchen. Catherine the owner lovely, nice gift of wine and biscuits.
Dervaig is a great village, pub and excellent shop, and a great location for exploring the North part of Mull.
We’ve used lots of Isle of Mull Cottages over the years, this is definitely in our top three, we would very happily stay there again.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable cottage, well equipped. Beautiful garden and great location on the ourskirts of Dervaig, handy for the pub and the well-stocked local shop and super walks from the back door.
Catherine, the owner, is lovely and helpful. We'll be booking this one again.

This is a fantastic cottage, spotlessly clean, exceptionally well equipped, cosy and well maintained. There are stunning views across the loch and there is easy access to lovely walks around Dervaig and wider afield. The welcome pack was much appreciated.

Beautiful cottage, on the banks of Loch Cuin, and a perfect place to relax and enjoy the wildlife (which included otters and seals during morning walks along the loch-side!). As keen bird watchers, we also enjoyed the small garden birds who came regularly to the feeders. The cottage itself was well-equipped, and very much a home-from-home (beds were blissfully comfy). Tobermory was close by, and there is a direct road across to Salen, where more seals can be seen hauled out on the sandbanks at low-tide. We will definitely be back for another visit very soon - best place we've stayed on Mull!

What a beautiful location for a perfect holiday home from home. A cosy, comfortable and clean arrival awaits anyone wishing to stay. The Smiddy is incredibly well stocked with items you would need. Plenty of kitchen items. A great selection of books and information about places to visit. Plenty of cleaning and laundry items aswell. Honestly it was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful wee place. Mull is stunning and the Smiddy was the perfect place for us to call home for a week. We felt it wad the perfect location for visiting various places. An incredibly quiet and friendly place.

Superb cottage in a wonderful location with views and walks from the door. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything you could need and even things you didn't know you needed. A good shop & pub in the village. Didn't have much luck spotting eagles or otters, maybe when we return we'll have more luck.

Such a lovely, warm, inviting and comfortable cottage with all the right fixtures and fittings. Situated in a very pretty location with great views over the surrounding hills, woods and loch. To sit by the woodburner with a large dram on a Winters evening was such a delight. Absolutely loved by us both.

Wow what a cottage. The perfect place to chill out. Warm, nicely decorated, cozy, well equipped, perfectly positioned. The bed was comfy and the shower was terrific. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates and utensils.
I have stayed at many of the cottages and lodges on Mull and I would 100% recommend Lilybank Smiddy. It is perfectly positioned for the pub, good food, and the convenience store, well stocked. Has great walks nearby and only 25 minute drive to Tobermory. I would definitely stay there again.

Lilybank Smiddy was extremely comfortable and had all of the home comforts anyone could want! The village shop is just amazing - incredible selection of fresh foods (meat, eggs, chesses, herbs, vegetables etc.) plus an outstanding selection of dry goods, drinks and even hard-to-obtain Asian cooking ingredients.
I am sure the week of sunshine helped but our stay would have been fantastic whatever the weather!

Lilybank Smiddy is an extremely comfortable and well equipped cottage. Dervaig is a lovely wee village, with a well stocked shop and a pub/restaurant. Our weather was very mixed but we had a couple of lovely days. It was no nice to have the welcoming cottage with its log burner to come back to when the rain started.

Had a 1 week winter break with my husband in this beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Dervaig within stumbling distance of the pub, which by the way is friendly and does great food over the weekend. Cottage is in a great location with easy access to North and central Mull. The cottage is very clean with very good amenities, very well stocked - everything you need and more. We didn’t have any contact with the owner, as we didn't need to, but knew how to if needed. This cottage is excellent and we will definitely be staying here again.

The 'Smiddy' was exceptional, everything necessary was there and to the highest standard. An beautifully modernised building with lots of history, bright and welcoming. Beds were extremely comfy and the shower invigorating after full days out exploring and looking at the wonderful scenery and spotting the rich and varied wildlife. All that was required was for us to arrive with our food. A big thank you to Catherine the owner for the wine and biccies and for the information about the weather that may affect the return ferry. Sun and rain but It is an Island in Scotland after all. Fantastic.

Best cottage we have ever stayed in, in Scotland. It has everything you see in the brochure/website. Dervaig is well paced to explore the island, and has a pub, Premier Store & Post office . We visited Staffa, Iona and Ulva (well worth a visit and walk), and had 7 days of sunshine. Had a swim at Calgary Beach. Tobermory Golf course is a challenge with wonderful views. Am Birlinn restaurant is excellent. Glengorm Castle with walk to Dun Ara then lunch at Coffee shop. Mull is a volcanic island and the geology is there to see. We will stay again if we can make a reservation.

We enjoyed being in the cottage because of the outstanding level of care taken with its presentation. The kitchen was immaculate and every bit of kit we hoped for was there. We were warm, comfortable inside and appreciated the chance to sit out in sunshine. It is booked for next year.

The cottage is in a lovely location and has been modernised and furnished to the highest standards. Very comfortable and cosy, and extremely well equipped. Great location for exploring the north of the island, with walks from the doorstep, and close by including the Calgary headland (plus lovely cafe and Art in Nature), Treshnish, Ulva, Tobermory area, etc, and of course an unmissable trip to Staffa. Highly recommend.

The cottage was immaculate on our arrival and the wine and biscuits very welcoming. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds comfy and lots of hot water from a powerful shower. Lovely views across the Loch and mountains and well situated for exploring Mull. We ate at the Bellachroy (takeaway), but also at Am Berlin and Cafe Fish in Tobermory. Booking essential for both. We were blessed with excellent weather which made for a perfect week. Thank you Catherine.

We arrived at the cottage to find it immaculate and more beautiful than we expected. A bottle of wine and biscuits greeted us on the kitchen table. The cottage has everything you need and the surroundings are peaceful and idyllic. Unfortunately I had an accident whilst out walking near the cottage on the first night and my husband contacted the owner for the number of a taxi firm. Catherine came across straight away and offered to take us to the hospital, saying it was no bother. Can’t thank her enough for this. Highly recommend staying here.

On arrival, the cottage was immaculate and the bottle of wine and biscuits from the owner were a nice welcoming touch. The cottage is very well equipped with everything spotlessly clean. Although we self-catered, we also ate at the Bellachroy (2 mins away) and the Am Birlinn restaurant both of which had effective Covid measures in place.
A wonderful week and the cottage and the area recommended.
And the good weather helped, of course!

Lilybank Smiddy was everything we wished for in a holiday cottage. Everyone we met in the village of Dervaig was very friendly and helpful. A fantastic base for biking and walking.

Lovely clean, cozy cottage in the village of Dervaig. Great for a family of four with small kids. Well placed to visit beautiful local beaches such as Calgary, Langamull and Croig. Local pub serves great meals and there are fab restaurants such as Am Berlin (couple of miles away) and Cafe Fish in Tobermory. Not a big Cottage but it is very well equipped and is in a beautiful spot. Recommended.

Perfect in every way. The owners were friendly Scottish people with very strong and important connections to the property and the island of Mull. The shop and bakery were very close and well stocked as is the Bellachroy Hotel but for us the Am Birlinn and the craft and arts place a few miles further on down the same road were very, very good. A lovely island well worth more visits.

Lovely cottage - really well decorated and so cosy to come back to after a long day out in Mull - what ever the weather!! We were moved here from another cottage that had 'issues' near Craignure and were not 100% happy at the time and in the end we were delighted to arrive at this gem in Dervaig!! Thanks so much!
By Fiona Bishop stayed in June 2019
Recently renovated to a very high standard, this cosy cottage with a lovely garden is in the centre of Dervaig and faces south-west making it lovely to sit outside, weather permitting! The décor is fresh, the kitchen brims with equipment (loved the coffee maker) and the friendly owner lives close by should you need anything. Dervaig is perfect for those wanting a peaceful break, has a nice pub and restaurant at The Banchory, two minutes from the cottage, and is good for getting to the scenic west and north coast for walking trails.
