Corrieyairack is a beautifully presented, home-from-home cottage with beautiful walks along the shore of Loch Cuin, along forestry trails or on the nearby Quinish Estate within easy reach. It is a great choice for those who are wanting to experience a little of island life, being situated in the heart of the village of Dervaig, on the Isle of Mull’s north coast.

There is a neighbouring residential property to one side and just up the hill from the house is the oldest inn on the island, The Bellachroy - a lovely choice for a relaxed lunch or tasty dinner. Opposite is a field, often occupied by sheep and, occasionally, a donkey or two! The village church can also be seen from the doorstep with its pretty pencil spire and a little further down the road, the edge of Loch Cuin beckons for a relaxing stroll to scan for wildlife.

The house is detached and sits within an enclosed garden, where there is parking for two or more cars on the drive, along with a picnic bench and lawned area.

Entering the house, there is a spacious hall with doors leading to ground floor rooms and wooden stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. The house is beautifully presented throughout and the wooden flooring, nicely lit rooms, decorated in neutral tones, and good-sized windows. Carefully chosen artworks with a wildlife theme, as well as brightly coloured paintings by local artist Jolomo, add character to the walls and complement the homely and inviting furnishings throughout.

Beginning in the living room, the owners have added lots of nice touches, including a wood burning stove for cosy evenings and a wide selection of books, films, games and music at your disposal. There is also a television and DVD player and double doors can be opened to the dining area.

The open plan kitchen and dining area is spacious and light with another set of double doors that lead to the rear garden. The kitchen is very well equipped with modern appliances and an excellent range of cookware, so no need to pack anything extra. There is also a welcoming tray of goodies set out for your arrival and a Tassimo coffee maker is an added bonus for those who enjoy a good coffee in the morning. The dining table provides a great central point in the home for eating and drinking with family or friends, and the house layout works really well for small or larger groups.

A separate utility room is equipped with washing machine and dryer, offering plenty of storage space for boots, coats and binoculars. Conveniently, there is a twin bedroom on the ground floor, with views to the front of the house, and a family bathroom too, with shower, hand basin and w.c.

Upstairs, a landing leads to two king-sized double bedrooms and an extra twin bedroom. Both doubles are spacious rooms with king-sized beds and views to the front of the house and Kilmore church. Each has plenty of storage for personal items and belongings so you can unpack and feel truly at home. There is a large family bathroom, which has a bath with shower over, basin and w.c. Cosy throws, quality bed linen and fluffy towels promise a comfortable stay.

For those wanting to enjoy a pint or evening meal nearby, the house is just a stone's throw from the Bellachroy Inn. The well-stocked village shop is only a few minutes’ walk away too, and just up the hill is Ar Bord, a fantastic little restaurant perfect for special occasions. Guests will also find the Piece Box in the village too, the perfect stop for seafood rolls and yummy lunchtime treats in season.

Tobermory is less than a 20-minute drive away by car, and has a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Calgary Beach is just under 15 minutes by car in the opposite direction. Calgary is regarded as one of Mull’s finest sandy beaches with beautiful dunes and wonderful wooded hills as a backdrop. Boat trips and wildlife tours are easily accessible in the area too, so guests can take a trip to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles (departing from both Tobermory and Ulva Ferry).
