Situated in a prime location that affords one of the finest views over Tobermory harbour, Columba Apartment offers luxury self-catering for two people in Mull’s main town. Columba Apartment has a private entrance and is located in a wing of Ulva House, a grand Victorian property set in extensive gardens with stunning views.

Entering the apartment, you will find a hall with useful storage space for coats and boots. The living area is a grand, spacious room with a huge window, perfectly framing the view over the harbour and Calve island. This carefully furnished room has heaps of charm and style, with very comfortable seating, a lovely open fire and a dining area with a fine mahogany table. The whole apartment, in fact, has a very welcoming, comfortable feel. Similar to having a large hotel suite to relax in, this is the perfect space in which to unwind after a day out exploring the island.

From the living room, a couple of steps and landing area lead into the master double bedroom. This large and spacious room has a real wow factor. A king sized, mahogany sleigh bed with pocket sprung mattress and Egyptian cotton bed linen helps ensure a good night's sleep, with the most beautiful views to wake up to, thanks to the huge windows and French doors at the end of the bedroom. There is lots of storage for personal belongings, armchairs to take in the view, and a coffee table. The French doors can be opened up to make the most of the wonderful setting, leading out to the garden area with outdoor seating, which is perfect for dining or enjoying a beverage while soaking up the views.

The entrance hall also leads onto a well-appointed bathroom with a large walk in shower unit, w.c. basin and a double ended spa bath. The room has multiple lighting options and dimmers so you can perfectly adjust the mood to suit. The galley kitchen in the apartment is very well equipped, with a nice range of quality cookware, appliances and everything you need for self-catering.

Guests will appreciate all the finishing touches that make Columba Apartment a special place to stay. It is ideal for a romantic retreat for two, for a special occasion, such as a honeymoon or anniversary, or simply as a great spring board from which to explore the Isle of Mull.

Tobermory and its shops, golf course and great range of cafes and restaurants are within easy walking distance from the apartment. A path descends beside the lawned garden at the front of Ulva House to a stone wall and metal gate, which you pass through, before descending to the harbour front (five-minute walk).

Tobermory has transport links with other areas of Mull via bus, and you can also take a boat trip from the harbour to explore Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, or go on a whale watching trip. Ferries also operate to Ardnamurchan, where you can visit the most westerly lighthouse on the mainland.

Tobemory has some great walks too (see our walking page for some inspiration). A well-kept track follows the harbour edge, leading past several waterfalls to the beautiful Aros Park, a public park with many well-maintained trails to explore. On the other side of the harbour is the path to the lighthouse Rubha nan Gall, with its lovely sea views.

Calgary beach is a 30-minute drive to the west. Here you will find a broad expanse of fine white sands backed by dunes and machair. Continuing south from here, you can experience Mull’s dramatic west coast; visit the Isle of Ulva; or take in the beautiful views across Loch na Keal, to Mull’s highest peak, Ben More. Columba Apartment really does make the perfect island base – an unforgettable one, too.

Bedrooms: The master bedroom has a king sized bed with pocket sprung mattress. Luxury 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen is provided over sumptuous goose down duvet and pillows (non-allergic duvet and pillows available by request). Dual control electric blanket. Soft towelling robes and mules are also provided for guests. Double, full sized patio doors open out from the bedroom onto the terrace and lawns. Hair dryer provided.

Bathroom: The beautifully appointed bathroom boasts a spa bath with mood lighting around and inside the bath. There is a separate Mira shower and a heated towel rail and underfloor heating.

Garden: Access straight onto the front garden from the master bedroom. There is a gravelled area with outdoor table and chairs provided.

Heating: Storage heaters in the apartment with underfloor heating in the bathroom. There is fuel provided for the open fire in the living room.

Bed Linen and Towels: Excellent quality bed linen and towels are provided for guests as well as towelling robes and mules.
